Raman Roy, Chairman & Managing Director, Quatrro

Raman is a pioneer four times over, having successfully led the BPO initiatives of American Express, GE (now Genpact) and Spectramind (now Wipro BPO) before starting Quatrro in mid 2006. Raman was the CEO of GECIS, the Business Leader for American Express’ BPO business and the Founder and CEO of Spectramind. Raman is now the Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Quatrro. Raman conceptualized and implemented the BPO and business strategy for all four companies. Raman launched Quatrro to focus on high end BPO services with a mix of incubation and acquisition led strategies. These have been targeted at the underserved areas with a focus on the uncontested market spaces.

Raman, with a guiding philosophy of enhancing the success rate of nascent businesses, is a founding member of the “Band of Angels,” a group of investors which has a passion to enable these businesses to create, scale and add value, while also addressing the current acute shortage of funds available for start-ups. Raman is also a member of the Managing Committee for the Global Services Magazine, a publication focused on strategies for sourcing people,
processes and technologies.

Raman is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Management Accountant with a doctorate in Management Accountancy. In his career spanning 30+ years, he has handled roles in Finance, Consulting, Operations and General Management.  

Sanjeev Aggarwal, Managing Director, Helion Ventures

Sanjeev Aggarwal was the Founder and CEO of Daksh, having been with the company from its inception in 2000 to its acquisition by IBM in 2004. Sanjeev ran the company as its CEO till June 2006. Daksh was a pioneer in BPO sector in year 2000 and had over 20,000 employees by June, 2006. Daksh delivers business process outsourcing services across several industries and for several horizontal segments such as CRM and Finance & Accounting to Fortune 500 clients. It has centers/marketing offices in India/Philippines/UK and USA. Daksh raised three rounds of financing from blue-chip investors like Actis, Citigroup and General Atlantic Partners.

During this period, Daksh won the ‘Contact Center Outsourcing Vendor of the Year (2006)’ award by Frost & Sullivan. Daksh was also rated as the World’s Best Managed BPO company (Black Book of outsourcing) and was ranked as the #1 employer in Indian BPO market by IDC. Sanjeev was chosen “Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year” in 2002.

Prior to founding Daksh, he worked for 15 years with leading technology companies serving the domestic Indian market. Sanjeev led the Strategic Initiatives at Motorola India and established the back-office of Motorola in India. He worked with Digital Equipment Corporation in delivering technology solutions addressing automation needs of various sectors like steel, telecommunications and financial services. Sanjeev was recognized as the “Decathlon Winner”, a recognition given to top 1% managers worldwide. He also served as the CEO of 3COM India and built a strong channels organization.

Dr Guruduth Banavar, Director, IBM India Research Labs

Dr Guruduth Banavar is currently the Director of IBM's India Research Laboratory (IRL), one of the eight world-wide research labs of IBM Research. He has played many roles at IBM Research -- technology researcher, senior line manager and executive, worldwide research strategist, patent portfolio evaluator, program manager of research investment, and relationship manager with senior executives. His broad technical interests and contributions have been in Service Science, Pervasive Computing, Distributed Systems, and Programming Models.

In August 2005, He established the Bangalore arm of the IRL, and has been leading this group to develop innovative technologies and methods for IBM's Service Delivery operations. He has also been actively involved in developing the general principles of service delivery, within the new field of Service Science.

Dr Banavar joined IBM's TJ Watson Research Center in late 1995 after receiving a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Utah. He is professionally active in the Computer Science, and more recently, in the Service Science communities. He has published more than 40 research papers, (co-) invented more than 25 patents, chaired major technical conferences and workshops in the field, served on 3 PhD committees, and sit on the advisory boards of international research and educational organizations.

VR Ferose – Managing Director, SAP Labs India

VR Ferose is the Managing Director of SAP Labs India, Gurgaon location, which is SAP Labs India’s north hub. Ferose is responsible to drive initiatives at Labs Gurgaon that deliver operational efficiencies. Ferose brings focused management attention to Labs India’s Gurgaon location which, after having successfully established itself over the last three years, is now entering into the next phase of stabilization and growth.

Ferose brings over 10 years of industry experience with him, and has been a part of the SAP family since August 1999. He played various roles within the development and support organizations and was the Executive Assistant to SAP Board Member Gerhard Oswald for 2 years before he took on the mantle of spearheading SAP Labs India, Gurgaon location. 

During his 10 years with the organization, Ferose has steadily grown in his roles and responsibilities. He joined SAP Labs India as a Developer in 1999 and within 3 years, was a Team Lead/ Development Coordinator. In October 2003, he was elevated to a Development Manager and donned that role for two years, until he was handpicked as the Executive Assistant to Board Member Gerhard Oswald in Sep 2005. At an age of 35, when most people are busy considering different options and cementing their place in an Organization, he can proudly be seen as one of the Youngest Managing Director of Global Multi National Corporation (MNC) in India.

He graduated from the National Institute of Technology(Warangal) in 1997 with a B. Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering. A health freak, he bicycles to office, plays tennis & has participated in marathons. He believes in sharing his experience with the youth and is passionately involved in bringing IT closer to the layman. He is a regular speaker at B-Schools & national events like NASSCOM. A voracious reader and an occasional writer, his leadership thoughts have got published in leading newspapers like The Economic Times.
