Overview

We are pleased to inform you, that the Polish Government has invited NASSCOM member companies to Poland for ‘The Baltic Innovation Forum 2008’ happening at Gdansk, Poland from 11th – 13th September 2008. The delegation is a is a business exploratory trip and is a part of an ongoing initiative by NASSCOM to increase partnership opportunities between the Technology companies from India and Poland. The delegation would be led by Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, Chairman NASSCOM and Deputy Chairman & MD Zensar Technologies Ltd. 

Poland has one of the largest ICT markets in central and eastern Europe. It has a bright economic outlook. Considerable inflow of funds from the EU, coupled with developments in financial, banking, telecom and government sector will contribute to healthy growth in the Technology and services area. Last year, the financial sector accounted for nearly a quarter of total spending, the government sector was second with 16.5%, and telecommunications was the third-largest spending vertical with 16.0% market share.

Additionally, the proximity, cultural affinity and ease of access of Poland to Western Europe makes it a very compelling partner location for serving the EU markets.

The Baltic Innovation Forum 2008 is organized by the Government of Gdansk, Poland and would have keynote sessions and panel discussions touching upon a variety of topics from outsourcing, innovation to government policy etc. It would also offer the delegates an opportunity to network with the ICT community of Poland. The first draft program for Baltic Innovation Forum 2008 is enclosed for reference.

We wish to inform members that a visit to the Forum is being part funded (travel and accommodation for a limited number of participants) by the Polish Government and members who have genuine interest in Poland as a market, an investment destination or as a partner country, be a part of this delegation.

The delegate fee for the visit is Rs 10,000/-, (travel – economy class and accommodation included). Please note that the above fee applies for a maximum of 8 delegates. We would take one delegate per company; the sponsorship would not extent to the 2nd person from the same company. In case we received more than 8 registrations, NASSCOM reserves the right to choose the companies, as it would be done in consultation with the organizers in Poland. The companies are can also travel on their own to participate at the conference, in case they are not selected. The decision of NASSCOM would be final. The registration fees of Rs. 10,000/- would be refunded if the company is not selected for sponsorship.
