CP Gurnani (popularly known as ‘CP’ within his peer group), is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tech Mahindra.
CP also played a pivotal role in the three-year transformational journey of Mahindra Satyam and spearheaded the company’s eventual merger with Tech Mahindra.
An accomplished business leader with extensive experience in international business development, start-ups and turnarounds, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, CP in many ways led Tech Mahindra's transformation journey, where he contributed significantly to the company's strategy and philosophy.
His inimitable style of leadership, combined with his sharp focus on customer experience, helped Mahindra Satyam and Tech Mahindra emerge as one of the leading providers in their respective competencies - IT Services and Telecom Solutions to the global telecom ecosystem.
In a career spanning 32 years, he has held several leading positions with HCL Hewlett Packard Limited, Perot Systems (India) Limited and HCL Corporation Ltd. An outstanding people's manager, CP has an entrepreneurial style of management that is a blend of enthusiasm and dynamism. He tends to focus on people's strengths to bring out the best in them. 'Work hard and play hard' is his motto and he applies it to all aspects of his life with complete passion.
A chemical engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, he is a distinguished and active alumnus of the Institute.
CP has been chosen as the Ernst and Young ‘Entrepreneur of the Year [Manager]’, CNBC Asia’s ‘India Business Leader of the Year’ and Dataquest ‘IT person of the Year’ - for the year 2013. He was also recently awarded the ‘Best CEO of the Year’ at the Forbes India Leadership Awards 2015.
Raman is Chairman and Managing Director of Quatrro. He launched Quatrro to focus on ‘Beyond the existing’ services in the BPM industry. He is deeply involved in shaping the future of the Business Process Management Industry in India, China, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Caribbean Region.
As a tribute to his contributions to the creation of the Global Services industry, The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) inducted him into the “Hall of Fame” in 2013. BBC Knowledge Magazine in December 2013 chose Raman as one amongst the 10 Game Changers that shaped modern India.
Raman, with a guiding philosophy of enhancing the success rate of nascent businesses and encouraging entrepreneurship, is a founding member of the “Indian Angel Network”, a group of investors that has a passion to enable start-up businesses. Raman is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Management Accountant with a Doctorate in Management Accountancy.
Mr. Chandrashekhar was the Chairman, Telecom Commission and Secretary, Department of Telecommunication till March 2013. During his career in Government, he held a wide variety of key assignments many of them relating to the ICT sector, both in the Government of India and the State Government of Andhra Pradesh. He has extensive experience of formulating and implementing policies, strategies and action plans to foster the growth of the IT industry covering the entire enabling eco-system including infrastructure, Human Resource Development, e-governance and establishing Public Private Partnerships. He has a deep understanding of the issues and problems related to ICT project implementation in Government. As Secretary, DOT, he was responsible for all aspects of policy formulation for the telecom sector and driving several key policies and strategies covering licensing, spectrum management, National Broadband Plan, Convergence, Manufacturing, Investment, security, R&D and the National Telecom Policy 2012. As Secretary of the Department of Information Technology, he steered the formulation of national policies for the IT sector, promoting Electronic System Design and Manufacturing and R&D in the Electronics and IT sector and designing the National e-Governance Plan.
Earlier, he established the first Department of Information Technology in the country in the state of Andhra Pradesh and was Secretary of the Department from June, 1997 to December, 1999. The policies and strategies he formulated catapulted the state to the forefront of the country in the sector and became a role model for several states and countries. Mr. Chandrashekhar received a M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a M.S. degree in Computer Science from the Pennsylvania State University, USA. He was conferred the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration for the year 2007-08. He has been conferred several awards including Data Quest Path Breaker of the Year Award in 2005 and Distinguished Alumnus award of IIT-Mumbai in 2010.
