SMB sectors have been charting of digitization journey by taking their business online, deploying ERP system, taking benefits of cloud services targeted them, adopting Industrialization 4.0, extending their reach through e-commerce and digital platforms and leveraging digital technologies for marketing. On the one hand, their systems and machines are getting connected, on the other hand, they would be increasingly exposed to cybersecurity threats. Apart from their IPR information, their assets, business, and operations would be severely impacted if steps are not taken for security. As SMB companies support the supply chain of larger public and private enterprise, compromises at their end may create larger ramifications. Data privacy is yet another domain, which is creating increasing liability on companies towards protection of individual rights. This warrants intense deliberation, spreading awareness, chalking out programs and galvanising efforts for improving security and posture.
