NASSCOM in its efforts to help industry diversify from western markets and into non-English speaking markets had identified both China and Japan as strategic geographies to curate for the future revenue growth. These are the economies where our industry has traditionally struggled. These markets were chosen in consultation with Govt of India keeping in mind various factors viz. GDP size, demographics, IT spending, current positioning in the Digital era, innovation index, etc. Other important yardstick that was considered was - offerings in this era of convergence. In this era of convergence where hardware and software boundaries are merging it was felt that we need to partner with economies that are good in hardware / manufacturing side so that we could jointly build solutions for the world in this new Digital era.

Its been almost 2 years since we set out on this challenging journey and have now reached a stage where we have been able to setup some anchor points in these geographies that could serve ecosystem on both sides by building bridges. NASSCOM has already setup collaborative platform in two locations of China i.e. Dalian and Guiyang in partnership with local Govt and is working on establishing similar platform in Japan. Chinese platform has already started yielding some results and couple of partnerships between Indian software companies and Chinese hardware companies have emerged.

We are holding a small session with the GTD team that is spearheading this campaign on 18^th July at the NASSCOM HQ to apprise members about this initiative and be able to identify companies that are ready join us in this journey.
