NASSCOM-CNBC IT User Awards acknowledge forerunners in technology deployment in India
NASSCOM and CNBC TV 18 celebrated IT usage in India by conferring awards on the country’s most progressive organisations, in the area of technology deployment. The NASSCOM CNBC TV18 IT User Awards are presented annually to companies that have demonstrated leadership in using IT for business transformation, optimising costs, developing synergies across businesses and enhancing customer satisfaction. This time around, they went to organisations representing ten industry verticals such as Energy and Utilities, Retail, Manufacturing, Telecom, Automotive, Travel and Logistics, Banking, Financial Services, Insurance and Health and Pharma.
The awards, introduced in 2003 by NASSCOM, were aimed at recognising companies that had dedicated resources, capital, time and research to IT and its implementation and derived strategic advantage. The objective was also to create a catalytic impact by supporting and motivating IT adoption and identifying the forerunners within the technology deployment domain. In 2008, NASSCOM partnered with CNBC for the awards, rechristening them as the NASSCOM CNBC TV 18 IT User Awards.
Nominees will be evaluated for the award based on the following criteria:
- Product or Service Innovation o Use of IT as a medium to reach new markets and achieve growth
- Customer delight and stakeholder impact
- Competitive advancement as result of IT initiatives
The winners of the 2010 Awards were felicitated at a special function organised in Mumbai in September, 2010 where Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and IT, Sachin Pilot was Chief Guest and Sudha Pillai, Member Secretary, Planning commission, the Guest of Honour.
