NASSCOM evangelizes the emerging Indian Gaming Industry at the fifth edition of NASSCOM Game Developers Conference

Announces winners of the first edition of the NGF Award

 

 

To propel the evolution of the Indian gaming sector and to evangelize the game developer‟s community in the country The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) organized the fifth edition of the NASSCOM Game Developers Conference (NGDC) on 15th -16th November 2013 at JW Marriot, Pune. The conference is aimed at involving emerging game developers in India, to participate at a level playing field with international players and witnessed industry veterans, representatives from emerging & established companies from India as speakers; discussing opportunities & challenges of the industry. The NASSCOM Game Developers Conference has established itself as a developer's haven by providing an opportunity to for developers to showcase their work. NASSCOM also organized activities like „Bring your own Game‟ (BYOG), Game Showcase Trailers, Indie Elevator Pitch and Adobe Game Jam on the sidelines of the conference.

Expressing his views on the rapidly evolving ecosystem Mr. Rajesh Rao, Chair, NASSCOM Gaming Forum said, “The world is beginning to see the immense potential for games in India, I can say this with confidence because; this year the NGC saw participation of high profile industry leaders, which included developers not just from India but from around the world. Today, we also announced the winners of NGF awards, which recognized the achievements in game development in India and we hope it will be an inspiration for game developers in the country for years to come. ”

The gaming industry in India has proved its capability in terms of delivering quality products and has the potential for acquiring a large domestic as well as overseas market. The sector is poised to grow at an exponential level in the years to come and will continue to capture the imagination of users and developers alike. To honor the companies driving the growth of this industry, NASSCOM recognized the winners of the first edition of the NGF Award across various categories:

The global gaming industry has witnessed constant evolving with the introduction of new technologies in the gaming circuit and this has had a domino effect in India.
