Arun believes strongly in People Power and often says, “With committed people you can achieve what most people think is impossible. He strongly believes that India needs to move up the ladder from being an order taker to an agenda setter.
As the Chief Architect, Arun's unwavering focus has been towards simplifying the complex world of Financial Technology. He states, “The role of the CIO in the Bank is the most challenging and complex in today's world as it is this role that straddles the world views and perspectives of Business, Operations and the Technology function in Banks and Financial Institutions.” He believes Design Thinking is the most powerful bridge to balance the CIO's agendas. And it doesn't end with just Thinking. On March 2013, Polaris opened the World's First Design Center for Financial Technology „FT 8012 Design Centre in Chennai, India. Today, the FT Design Center is a game changer for CIOs, helping them deliver unprecedented business outcomes to financial customers worldwide, thereby making design thinking an everyday reality.
Arun has been recognized for his business achievements. He is the recipient of many special awards including the „Indo - ASEAN Business Initiative Award, „ICICI Venture – CII Connect Entrepreneur Award. His contribution was recognized by the Times Group, with an award and a feature in a book titled „Pathfinders that lauds the achievements of extraordinary personalities in the IT & ITES industry.
Arun is a Member of the Advisory Council of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and a Member of the Governing Council of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Department of Electronics and Information Technology,
Govt. of India. Children's education has always been more than a mere philanthropic interest for Arun. In fact he wants every associate of Polaris to be involved for a greater cause. Way back in 1996, he founded the Ullas Trust to integrate Polaris employees with the larger community. The trust has awarded has so far touched the lives of over 6500 young achievers in urban metros and over 1,50,000 children in rural India.
Arun holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering (1983).
