Dear Member,

NASSCOM launched its initiatives for companies in the early growth stage under the EMERGE banner 5 years back. Today the initiative has branched fruitfully in many directions. In addition to this newsletter, we also have the vibrant EMERGE community, the Made in India product showcase, the EMERGEOUT Conclave and of course the mentorship programme. At NASSCOM we believe that it is now time to take stock and check in with the larger community to take their feedback on these initiatives as well as suggestions to charter our future course.

With this in mind, we are launching a survey to reach out to a cross section of emerging companies and ascertain your views. Please read the Initiatives section for details.

In this issue, we also feature a company that has benefitted from one of the EMERGE initiatives – the mentoring programme. Veena Mahendru, President and Co-Founder, The Savi Group, speaks on how her company has been transformed by the mentoring experience in the Case Study section.

In an economic situation where the corporate sector is cautious about new investments in IT, the Government has emerged as an important customer for many companies. How do emerging companies take advantage of this opportunity? In Grassroots, we meet with Prakash Rane of ABM Knowledgeware, a company that has successfully tapped the e-governance market.

Best Regards,

Krishnakumar Natarajan
Chair - NASSCOM EMERGE Forum & CEO & MD, MindTree Ltd.

E-governance: The road less travelled
