Deskill or Reskill?

AI,ML and Data Science are not buzz words anymore. It has penetrated the industry already and the business impact it has created is huge.

This calls for a 'Change'. Change in strategy to gain competitive advantage, change in focus (to think data and practice data science), change in company culture and most importantly change in current skills.

When I speak to many forums, I often get this question from experienced professionals - Do we need to "deskill" or "reskill" ? The first one brings fear of being considered as being naЇve and fear of questioning the abilities to bring value and also confusion with respect to where to take your career. Second one is called adopting. If you are a software professional who is thinking of embracing AI/ML or curious to know what's there on other side of world or if you are in academia and want to understand how industry is moving; this sessions is just for you.

Being a ML & AI practitioner since a decade and having transformed myself from an engineer to a data scientist engineer, I would love to share the experience and thoughts.
