    NASSCOM successfully hosted Hon'ble Union Minister for IT and Law, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, for a roundtable with IT Industry leaders in London on 09ththJuly, 2018 with the support of techUK and GSA, at the techUK office. This high level Roundtable was attended by our High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr Y K Sinha, along with senior management of leading UK and Indian technology companies in the UK, senior officials from DCMS including UK National Technology Officer, Liam Maxwell, leadership of techUK and GSA.

    NITI Aayog & NASSCOM Sign MoU towards promoting AI in India

    NITI Aayog and NASSCOM have agreed to work and promote AI & Machine Learning towards Applied Research, Accelerating Adoption, Ethics, and Privacy & Security.

    This was a great opportunity for us to sign an MoU with NITI Aayog on 5th July, to collaborate and advance AI adoption in India; facilitate key stakeholder interaction; Share knowledge; and, organize summits and meetings to disseminate learnings and reach out to a broader audience.

    W2RT: Much More Than a High Mathematical Probability

    Women Wizards Rule Tech (W2RT) is a unique program designed exclusively for women professionals in core technologies, from IT-ITES/BPM, Product and R&D firms, with the aim of plugging the leaky leadership pipeline and nurturing women leaders. A joint initiative of NASSCOM, NASSCOM Sector Skills Council and Data Security Council of India, W2RT was launched at the recently concluded NASSCOM D&I Summit 2018 in Chennai.

    CoE – DSAI: Spurring Innovation and Co-Creation

    Reiterating our commitment towards nurturing emerging technologies, particularly AI, and leveraging the power of Data Science, NASSCOM along with the Karnataka Government, launched the Centre of Excellence for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CoE – DSAI on the 5th July. The CoE is focused on Smart Manufacturing, Automotive, Healthcare, Agriculture, Energy, IoT, BFSI, Retail & Telecom among others.

    Government further postpones the TDS/TCS provision

    This is in reference to a recent press release by Ministry of Finance on postponement of TDS and TCS provisions under GST.  This confirms several news reports published in the last week where officials had confirmed that the provisions would not come into effect July 1, 2018 as was proposed.  

    The press release confirms that the applicability of TCS stands postponed until September 30, 2018.
